Linda Johansen has been elected board president for Visit the Santa Ynez Valley, a nonprofit destination marketing organization that promotes tourism in the Santa Ynez Valley.
The organization’s goal is to create more overnight stays and prosperous and sustainable businesses in Buellton, Ballard, Los Alamos, Los Olivos, Santa Ynez, and Solvang by promoting the area as a diverse destination for visitors.
Born and raised in Solvang, Johansen has years of philanthropic experience and tourism expertise, said a VisitSYV spokesman.
Johansen is part owner of King Frederik Inn and Pea Soup Andersen’s Inn, serves as the director of Sales & Marketing for each property and has organized independent group travel, raising funds for local charitable organizations, since 2008.
She has sat on more than 20 boards serving the community and has represented Solvang and the Santa Ynez Valley at conventions throughout the United States for more than 25 years
She is joined on the board by Barry Prescott, vice president; Bion Rice, treasurer; Bob Oswaks, secretary; and board members Cammy Pinoli, Jim Rice, Randolph Pace and James Colvin.
