A workshop to teach hospitality business owners, managers and staff members how to not only entice visitors to return to the Santa Ynez Valley but also to recommend a visit to their friends is set for Wednesday, March 22, in Solvang.
Visit the Santa Ynez Valley will host its first Spirit of the Valley Seminar at K'Syrah, 478 Fourth Place, with registration, coffee and networking from 8:30 to 9 a.m. followed by the workshop from 9 a.m. to noon.
“This workshop has been designed to teach every associate in a visitor-facing role how to create the very best guest experience possible,” said a VisitSYV spokeswoman.
In addition to how to provide first-class customer service, the workshop will teach participants a little about each of the area’s six communities — Solvang, Buellton, Santa Ynez, Ballard, Los Olivos and Los Alamos.
Attendees will also take away information allowing them to answer such frequently asked questions as what activities are available for kids and where to find entertainment after 5 p.m.
The seminar is offered free of charge to hospitality businesses by VisitSYV, which promotes the Santa Ynez Valley as a destination with diverse attractions to create additional visits and overnight stays that benefit the area’s economy.
