Raul Jimenez passed away unexpectedly at his home in Pasadena on September 28, 2013. He was born in Chula Vista on November 17, 1947 and, except for his military service in Vietnam, he spent most of his life in the Santa Barbara area. He attended Bishop Diego High School, then Santa Barbara City College, and finally graduated from UCSB before attending UCLA and receiving his Masters Degree in Psychology. He then returned to Santa Barbara and devoted twenty-seven years to a variety of Santa Barbara County Mental Health Agencies that cared for those in need. After his marriage Raulie moved to the Santa Ynez Valley where he became very involved in his sons' baseball and soccer leagues. When he retired from the county in 2005, he and his family moved to Pasadena to be closer to Marias family and the support they were able to offer.
Raul is preceded in death by his parents, Socorro and Jesus, and leaves behind his wife, Maria, his sons, John Robert and Marco, his sisters, Yolanda and Rebecca, and his brother, Richard.
Raul's funeral services were held on October 9 in Pasadena.
