Warren Thomas Davey of Santa Ynez, California, passed peacefully Friday evening, July 14th, at the age of 98. He was born in Detroit, Michigan on April 2, 1919, to Norman and Grace Davey. He was the eldest of three children. His mother was extremely important in his life. She was a loving, caring mother to her three boys, and Warren was devastated at her early death while in his teens. She passed her love of Christmas celebrations on to him, and this holiday continued to be his most special time of year.
He helped with his younger brothers through the depression. He went on to graduate 'cum laude', which helped get him into UCLA after the war. Warren was stationed in Ireland and England at a plane repair base. This experience gave him a life-long love of flying. Warren and Violet met before the war and were married in 1945 in Las Vegas. He then enrolled in college and was pre-med. His career took a turn when he saw the building boom opportunities and became a general contractor. Aside from family, his great loves were flying, horses, travel and investments. •
Warren is survived by Violet, his wife of 72 years, his sister-in-law Katherine, and his children; Michael (Francesca) Davey, Diana (Steve) Deferville, Steve (Theresa) Davey. His beloved grandchildren; Laurie (Will) Robinson, Lisa (Devon) Cobb, Adam (Tiffany) Davey, Christina Deferville, Mark (Meredith) Deferville, Jennifer Davey. His great-grandchildren; Karli, Kendall, Jake, Madison, Makayla, Colton, Hayden, Eli, Clayton, Ben and his nephew Ken (Kathy) Davey. His parents, Norman and Grace Davey, brothers Jerry and Ken, Violet's parents Martha and Warner Wuthrich, and his beloved grandson Tyler all preceded Warren in death.
