Dining by Design, an annual fundraising event put on by Friendship House Auxiliary, is returning for its 10th season.

"We are so humbled that this fundraiser is still a popular event in our efforts to raise funds for Friendship House residents," said Auxiliary Co-president Pam Pilcher.

Dining by Design features four dinners at four different venues, each with very different menus.

The first dinner is on July 20 with "Rancho Veranda Dining" at the Musgrove Ranch hosted by Sherry Musgrove and the Posnick family. The menu is surf and turf. Diners will be serenaded with live music and are invited to tour the Musgoves' extensive collection of John Wayne memorabilia.

On Aug. 17, dinner is "The Berman Barn and So Much More!" hosted by Shelby Hughes and the Berman family. The setting is the family's wagon and carriage barn. A selection of local wines will be served.

Red Rooster Ranch is the location for the Sept. 7 dinner. Hosts Jennifer Gette and Phoebe and Jack Patterson will treat attendees to a farmhouse dinner experience.

Sept. 19 wraps up the Dining by Design season with dinner at Santa Barbara County Fire Department Station 31 in Buellton. Battalion Chief David Neels and his crew will welcome guests to their station. New West Catering is preparing the meal that will be served with creative mocktails (no alcohol can be served on the property).  Each attendee will take home a bottle of local wine.

The Auxiliary raises funds to purchase items that enhance the lives of Friendship House residents. Last year more than $30,000 was spent on various classes such as music therapy, exercise therapy and art.

Reservations are $100 per person. All dinners begin at 6 p.m. For more information and reservations, call Pilcher at 805-686-2962 or Musgrove at 805-693-0297.
