The Bear and Star is celebrating New Year’s Eve in classic style.

On Dec. 31, the Los Olivos restaurant will feature a jazz quartet reminiscent of bygone days and a dinner prepared by chef John Cox and his team.

The Bear and Star will present a five-course dinner, beginning with a flute of complimentary Fesstivity Rose sparkling wine and a variety of appetizers, including Santa Barbara spot prawn and stone ground grits.

The main course is a petite Wagyu filet with cast iron sunchoke hash, Brussels sprout and bone marrow Bordelaise. Dessert will consist of dark chocolate ganache cake with Fuyu persimmon and speculoos.

Pricing for the New Year’s Eve dinner is $95 per person, with optional wine pairings offered at $50 per guest. Dinner is prix fixe menu only. Late seating includes a midnight toast. Reservations are recommended. Call the restaurant at 688-7788 or visit OpenTable.com.
