Update: Because of the potential for heavy rain, the event has been postponed until Jan. 14.
Valley Piggery owner Jake O. Francis is hosting his first open house — open ranch might be more appropriate — on Jan. 7 from noon to 3 p.m. in Los Alamos.
Have face-to-snout encounters with Valley Piggery's heritage-bred pigs in the pastures and woodlands where they root and forage. If you've had pork at Industrial Eats restaurant in Buellton, Full of Life Flatbread in Los Alamos, or at an event catered by New West Catering, this is your chance to see where it comes from. Snacks and drinks will be served.
The event is open to adults and kids, and promises to be both educational and Instagrammable.
