Food and wine lovers are invited to visit the Santa Ynez Valley during the seven days of Restaurant Week. Imaginative local chefs steeped in the farm-to-table movement will bring their culinary expertise to the Valley for the eighth consecutive event from Jan. 21 to 27.
Participants can savor three-course tasting menus from some of the Valley’s top dining establishments for $20.18, while celebrating food and wine pairings that have made the region the gem of California wine country.
“Originally formed in conjunction with Visit California’s Restaurant Month promotion, VisitSYV created Restaurant Week to bring visitors to the Valley during a traditionally slow period,” said Shelby Sim, CEO of Visit Santa Ynez Valley (VisitSYV). “It’s now become one of the most anticipated events of the year.”
Representing each of the Valley’s six distinct communities, more than two dozen restaurants — ranging from the region’s emerging establishments to long-time favorites — are participating in Restaurant Week this year. The list includes a Puerto Rican-inspired menu at Industrial Eats in Buellton, which is donating 100 percent of the proceeds to hurricane relief efforts in Puerto Rico.
“Many locals across Santa Barbara County come out to revisit and discover what’s new,” said VisitSYV’s Sim. “Folks from across the state have it in their calendars to visit the Santa Ynez Valley during this very exciting gastronomical week.”
In addition to the Valley’s finest restaurants, nine wineries and tasting rooms will offer wine and small-bite pairings for $20.18. Special lodging deals are available at numerous hoteliers throughout the Valley, as well.
