Your dog can treat you to free admission at the Santa Barbara Botanic Garden during the 6th annual "Trails 'n' Tails" event Saturday, Aug. 15 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Leashed dogs are welcome at the garden, and each one gets to bring one person in with them for free. Dog-centric activities will include a photo contest, dog vendors with giveaways and offers, dog caricature drawings, and doggie docent tours and hikes.

Founded in 1926, the garden is a 78-acre nonprofit educational and research institution fostering the conservation of California's native plants.

"We love dogs here at the Garden," said Executive Director Steve Windhager. "The Garden is a living museum of California native plants, and there are not many other museums that are going to let your dog join you and sniff the exhibits."
