Dick Doré of Foxen Vineyard & Winery is the guest for the "Final Friday Featured Winemaker" series at the Los Olivos Wine Merchant & Cafe on Friday, May 26, from 5:30 to 6:30 pm.
Doré will be on hand as guests enjoy small bites while chatting with the winemaker as he pours tastes of his wine, those which he feels would pair perfectly with the appetizers.
Founded by Doré and Bill Wathen in 1985, Foxen Vineyard and Winery prides itself on small production, sustainably farmed, vineyard-focused wines using a straightforward and minimalist approach to winemaking. The winery is named in memory Doré's great-great grandfather, William Benjamin Foxen, who gave up the life of an English sea captain to purchase the historic Rancho Tinaquaic in 1837. Foxen used the anchor logo as his ranch cattle brand, and it has become the trademark of the winery.
Cost is $25. For more information and reservations, call 688-7265 or visit winemerchantcafe.com.
