Solvang City Council will convene a special meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 3, in the council chambers of City Hall, 1644 Oak St. to continue discussion about and potentially take action on filling a council vacancy.

The council also will consider awarding a nearly $900,000 contract to Brough Construction Inc. to upgrade the city’s Well 22, according to the agenda posted as of Thursday.

Council members are scheduled to give oral reports regarding their activity on other agencies and committees, including the Santa Barbara County Association of Governments, the County Air Pollution Control Board, Joint Wastewater Committee, the Library Ad Hoc Committee, the Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians and the Indian Gaming Benefit Committee.
