Santa Claus paid a visit last Friday to the children of the Santa Ynez Valley State Preschool at its Winter Holiday Celebration at Antonio's Pizza in Buellton.

The Santa Ynez Valley State Preschool program is operated by Santa Barbara County Education Office in cooperation with College School District to provide State Preschool/school readiness services for income-eligible children ages 3-5 years in the Valley.

The local Santa Barbara First 5 Commission, through People Helping People, funds the transportation. School readiness activities are provided by an expert staff that provide a daily developmentally appropriate curriculum that help in the child's social emotional, physical, cognitive and creative development.

The program operates three hours daily morning and afternoon, 180 days during the school year. The Health Linkages Program provides parenting education, referrals and health services.
