Santa Ynez River Water Conservation District, Improvement District 1, board of trustees has canceled its regular meeting scheduled for Tuesday and slated a special meeting at 3 p.m. Monday in the conference room at 1070 Faraday St. in Santa Ynez.

Items scheduled for discussion include the continuing operation of the Cachuma Project by the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation as well as the 2020 water service contract process and negotiations with the bureau.

Trustees also are scheduled to hear reports from the manager on monthly revenues and expenses, the 2017 Series “A” Central Coast Water Authority bond, a torn claim for money or damages and updates on Oak Hill Cemetery and Zone 3 reservoir.

The board plans to hold a closed session to discuss legal proceedings before the State Water Resources Control Board regarding permits issued to the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation and complaints filed by the California Sport Fishing Protection Alliance over operation of the Cachuma Project.

Other closed session items include legal proceedings before the State Water Board regarding a permit issued to the city of Solvang regarding petitions for change and extension of time and protest to the petitions; potential litigation against the district by the Cachuma Operations and Maintenance Board and potential litigation to be initiated by the district.
