Santa Ynez Valley residents who have sensitive documents to shred can have it done at no charge during the Valleywide Shred Day set for Saturday, Feb. 24, in three locations, a Shred2U spokeswoman said.

A Shred2U truck will be parked in three Rabobank branch parking lots during specific times that day to shred documents as they’re delivered.

The Shred2U truck will be at the Buellton Rabobank from 10 a.m. to noon, then at the Solvang Rabobank from 12:30 to 2 p.m. and the Santa Ynez Rabobank from 2:30 to 4 p.m.

Residents can have two banker’s boxes of documents shredded at no charge. Additional boxes can be shredded at a cost of $7 per box.

The Buellton, Solvang and Santa Ynez chambers of commerce are sponsoring the shredding to help residents reduce clutter and safely dispose of old legal and financial documents as well as general paperwork that may contain sensitive information.
