Six people escaped with minor injuries after a Saturn SUV struck a Ford Mustang broadside shortly after 10 p.m. Monday at the four-way stop on Highway 154 at Edison Street in Santa Ynez.

Details were sketchy Monday night, but California Highway Patrol officers at the scene said it appeared one of the vehicles had failed to stop at a stop sign, although it was unclear which vehicle that was.

Following the collision, the SUV was left sitting on the highway, while the black late-model Mustang ended up facing south beyond the drainage swale on the southeast side of the intersection.

CHP at the scene said some of the victims complained of pain, but there were no serious injuries.

There was no indication that drugs or alcohol was a factor in the crash, but the collision is still under investigation.
