In Week Two we had one guy throw a perfect game, scoring every time he touched the ball.

Then we have two guys on the same team who did just about everything.

On another squad there are teammates who passed for over 200 yards while the other rushed for more than 200 yards.

Then we have another guy who accounted for seven TDs in an unbelievable comeback win.

So yeah, there are plenty of worthy candidates for the Player of the Week award in Week Two.

Remember to vote across all three websites all week and all the votes will be combined on Friday before kickoff. You can vote at santamariatimes.com as well as our Lompoc site, lompocrecord.com, and even our Santa Ynez Valley site, syvnews.com.

Toa Taua was the one who threw the perfect game: The Lompoc senior scored three touchdowns and rushed for 169 yards on just three carries. That's an automatic nomination.

Then we have Robert Ruiz and Jonathan Ramos who went off against Cabrillo.

Ruiz rushed for 125 yards and two scores, but also had two sacks and an INT on defense.

Ramos had 3 catches for 115 yards and two TDs. On defense he made four stops, two of those for losses, had an interception that he returned for 59 yards, a safety and a 51-yard punt.

Ramos is quickly becoming the most versatile player in the area.

Dino Maldonado threw four TDs for the second straight game. Against St. Bonaventure, Maldonado went 20 for 27 for 286 yards and no INTs. His teammate, running back and fellow senior Jayden Vargas, had a monster game running the ball: 25 carries, 215 yards and two TDs.

Then we have Darin Miller, playing for Orcutt Academy on the 8-man side: Miller ran for five TDs and threw for two more as his Spartans exchanged a 22-6 deficit for a 66-30 win.

I have to note two guys who aren't nominated this week: Blake Truhitte had an amazing game for the Saints, rushing for 190 yards and throwing for 133, but he's been up twice already. Jared Sutton was a beast for Orcutt Academy as well, with two INTs on defense, a rushing TD and a receiving TD.

Here are all the candidates.
