Follow-Up class to our 4 & 6-Week Beginner Acrylic Painting Class. Only available to returning students who have completed a 4, 5 or 6-week beginner course.

This class will jump off from the basics and start to dig into technique, practices, style and composition. We’ll start off playing paint and mediums to loosen up from our tendencies toward rigidity and see where our own creativity takes us…then we’ll play with a limited palette in a complementary study where we’ll all paint the same objects. Then I’ll work through a landscape painting from a photo step-by-step as if I was working on it in my studio. That way you’ll all be able to follow along with every step and see how one artist works, at least 😉 Lastly, I’ll have everyone bring in a painting from an artist they admire or just love and I’ll help you re-create that piece of work. You learn so much by copying artists…really…it’s not a bad thing! promise.

Here’s a break-down of the series:

Week One: Creative Session

Week Two: Small still life (Complementary Color Study)

Week Three: Guided landscape painting

Week Four: Complete guided landscape

Week Five: Paint from a painting from an artist of your choice (learn the artist’s style & techniques)

Week Six: Finish up painting from a painting

Limited to 8 students.

Class runs from January 18 till February 22.

I would recommend upgrading your paint to professional heavy body colors if you haven’t already and purchasing a few more canvases. (1-8×10, 1-12×16, 1-14×18 or 16×20 ) (we have the supplies here if you’d like to buy them on the first night as we’ll provide you with all the necessary supplies for the first night).

  • Starting Thursday, January 18th, 2018, repeated every week on Thursday until Thursday, February 22, 2018 @ 6:00 pm – 8:30 pm
