Virginia was born in Santa Paula, Calif., Dec. 19, 1920, the only child of Willa and Art Dawley. She graduated from Ventura High School and moved to Riverside, Calif., where she worked as a secretary at Food Machinery, where she met and married Donald Stocking in 1946 after his return from the Navy in World War II. They lived in Southern California until 1977, when they moved to Orcutt. Gini worked at Musser Seed until her retirement in 1982.
Gini was a loving and devoted wife, mother and friend. She loved reading, camping, traveling and shopping. Her smile, laughter and love will truly be missed.
Mrs. Stocking was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Donald Stocking, in 1992. She is survived by her son, Jeff, and his wife, Barbara, of Santa Maria; granddaughter, Erin Shippey, and her husband, Mike; and great-grandchildren Matthew and Julia of Manhattan Beach, Calif.
Special thanks to the staff of Country Oaks Care Center who provided Gini with such good care in her final months.
