Los Olivos is about to become the first community in the Santa Ynez Valley to have a food truck with public walk-up hours and semipermanent placement.
First & Oak Kitchen, an offshoot of Solvang's fine dining restaurant First & Oak, will be parked and open for business starting Thursday, June 1, adjacent to the Coquelicot Estate Vineyard tasting room's outdoor garden area on Alamo Pintado Avenue in Los Olivos. The food truck will be open to the public for walk-up lunch, snack and early dinner service Thursday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
"First & Oak Kitchen" will serve as a more casual sibling to our Solvang restaurant, First & Oak, and the truck's inherent mobility will allow us to expand First & Oak's presence," co-owner Jonathan Rosenson said. Coquelicot is also owned by Rosenson and his father.
To start, First & Oak Kitchen's menu is all crepes. Savory crepes are filled with ingredients like fried chicken or short ribs. Savory crepes come with ice cream and a variety of fruits and toppings.
First & Oak Kitchen has plans to institute a Los Olivos employee discount for all Los Olivos business owners and their staff.
