Healthy Kids Day Santa Ynez Valley

Jayne Reepmaker, member engagement specialist at the Stuart C. Gildred Family YMCA, teaches attendees to make healthy juices and smoothies at a previous years' Healthy Kids Day.

Being one of thousands of YMCA’s across the nation observing Healthy Kids Day, Stuart C. Gildred YMCA invites the local community to celebrate the annual fun and wellness event on Saturday, April 27 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. next to the baseball fields at Santa Ynez Elementary School, 3325 Pine Street.

The objective of Healthy Kids Day, which is the nation’s largest health day for children and families, is to engage and educate families, youth and teens about the importance of staying physically and intellectually active all summer long.

The family-fun event will offer adults and kids opportunities to learn about healthy food options and lifestyle choices through informational booths and activities that include a rock-climbing wall, bounce house, soccer demos and information about yoga.

For additional information about the event, contact YMCA Program Director II, John Crowell at 805-686-2037, ext. 226.
