The Best Pet Friendly Hotels In North Carolina (image)

Some “pet friendly” hotels simply allow pets to visit along with their pet parents.  However, other hotels really go above and beyond when it comes to welcoming their pet guests.  In North Carolina, a few top hotels do a great job at this, and they truly put the “friendly” in pet friendly.  We’ve come up with the best NC hotels for pets, based on pet fees, how many and what types of pets are allowed, awesome pet amenities, and their overall pet friendly atmosphere.

Atlantis Lodge at Atlantic Beach

Atlantis Lodge in Atlantic Beach is a pet’s paradise!  They welcome their dog and cat visitors by keeping their pet fees low and their pet amenity offerings high!  Their pet fees are only $15/night, and their pet amenities include pet sheets, cookies, poop scoops and bags, as well as a dedicated dog park.  Plus, Atlantis Lodge is located right on a breathtaking dog friendly beach! And, their on-site pet washing stations help furry guests get clean after playing in the nearby sand and sea.  Atlantis Lodge welcomes up to 2 pets per suite, and there are no weight limits or breed restrictions for furry visitors!

Kimpton Tryon Park Hotel - Charlotte

This pet-centric, urban retreat welcomes pets, and its great location is close to pet friendly shops, breweries, and restaurants in the heart of downtown Charlotte.  This boutique hotel is known for its exceptional pet program, where pets always stay free, there is no pet deposit, and any number of pets are welcome regardless of how many, how large, what kind, and what type.  When it comes to pet amenities, they aim to please! Extra perks for pets include soft pet beds; food, water bowls, and mats; as well as a concierge list of nearby pet friendly restaurants, parks, groomers, and pet boutiques.  Human guests have access to courtesy bags, making for easy clean-up when walking pooches on the property. There are also evening wine receptions, where people and their pets are welcome to mix and mingle with other hotel guests.

Kimpton Cardinal Hotel - Winston-Salem

This hotel can be described as a combination of classic elegance with a modern flair!  It is conveniently located near the thriving arts scene, shops, and outdoor restaurants in downtown Winston-Salem that welcome furry family members.  Along with all other pet-centric Kimpton Hotels, the Cardinal rolls out the red carpet for pets who visit! There are no pet fees, weight or breed restrictions, and pets of any type and amount are invited to stay.  Pet amenities are abundant, with pet beds, pet bowls and mats, dog waste bags, and “pet in room” door hangers provided for pet guests. When checking-in, guests receive a concierge list of pet friendly places to visit in the area, as well as a list of local services that cater to pets.  Additionally, mid-afternoon snacks and beverages are featured in the luxurious lobby, along with a wine hour in the evenings (where pets are also welcome) to bring the days to a close in style.

DoubleTree by Hilton Asheville-Biltmore in Asheville

This property’s location is a huge draw for people and their pets, as it sits right across the street from the Biltmore Village with its multiple pet friendly shops and restaurants.  In addition, hiking trails along the nearby Blue Ridge Parkway provide a wonderful reprieve from city life! At the hotel, large pets up to 75 lbs. are welcome, and they get a special treat upon checking-in.  The accommodations include suites with separate bedrooms, which many guests find to be a necessity when staying for an extended time with their pets. The property also provides special outdoor dog walking areas for stretching and getting some exercise.
