The threat of rain didn’t stop car lovers from putting their rolling treasures on display Saturday morning at the Pirate Garage Car Show on the Santa Ynez Valley Union High School campus.

An annual fundraiser for the Pirate Garage, the school’s automotive technology program and racing team, the show gives not only students, teachers and administrators but also the general public a chance to show off their vehicles.

The parking lot was filled with entries ranging from antiques to the latest models, from muscle cars to sports cars, from cherry classics to daily drivers, from sleek customs to works in progress and from off-road trucks to on-track race cars.

In addition to all the American — and foreign — iron on display, the event included food, music, activities for kids and information booths as well as a fund-raising raffle sponsored by Santa Ynez Valley Youth Recreation.

Saturday’s show from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. was Pirate Garage’s fifth annual.
