The following is taken from the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office media report for the Santa Ynez Valley patrol.

Those appearing as "arrested" have only been arrested on suspicion of the crime indicated and are presumed innocent.

Sunday, June 6:

ARREST — Deputies came across a couple slumped over in a vehicle and showing symptoms of being under the influence in the Chumash Casino Resort parking structure around noon.

A search of the vehicle allegedly turned up approximately 31 grams of suspected fentanyl and narcotics paraphernalia, and deputies found two felony no-bail arrest warrants had been issued for one of the occupants, Alejandro Alvarez, for probation violations.

Alvarez was arrested on the two warrants plus suspicion of possessing a controlled substance, possessing paraphernalia for smoking a controlled substance and resisting arrest and taken to County Jail.

Monday, June 7:

INCIDENT — About 3:30 a.m., deputies stopped a vehicle near Second Street and Central Avenue in Buellton for having registration that expired in November 2017.

During an inventory search of the vehicle, deputies allegedly found suspected methamphetamine and a meth pipe.

The vehicle was towed away and the driver was cited for suspicion of driving an unregistered vehicle, possession of a controlled substance and possession of paraphernalia.

Wednesday, June 9:

INCIDENT — Investigators are looking for a man who entered a room at the Sideways Inn in Buellton just before 4 p.m. and struck up a conversation with the housekeeper who was cleaning it before stripping off all his clothes and exposing himself to her.

The man, who was not recognized as a hotel guest, left when the housekeeper told him to. He is described as about 70 years old with white hair and a skinny build.

Thursday, June 10:

ARREST — After law enforcement was alerted to be on the lookout for Joseph Grizzaffi and Diane Gloisten, for whom arrest warrants had been issued, the couple was located about 2:45 a.m. at the Chumash Casino Resort and taken into custody.

A search of their vehicle allegedly turned up evidence from a previous case.

ARREST — Deputies came across Matthew Michael Alcocer allegedly attempting to strike another man at Tom’s Gas in Buellton about 8:40 p.m., pulled him away and took him to the ground to handcuff him.

While on the ground, Alcocer allegedly refused to cooperate with deputies, resisted being handcuffed and subsequently was found to be under the influence of narcotics.

He was arrested on suspicion of battery, resisting arrest and being intoxicated by drugs in public.

ARREST — Deputies determined Ruben Faustino Velez was allegedly in possession of a stolen vehicle, but when they attempted to contact him, he fled and evaded apprehension.

The vehicle was recovered around 8:55 p.m. in the 3000 block of Mission Drive in Solvang.

Velez was subsequently located at the Sanja Cota Motor Lodge in Santa Ynez, arrested on suspicion of possessing stolen property and taken to County Jail.

Friday, June 11:

ARREST — After a driver possibly under the influence was reported leaving the Shell gas station in Buellton about 2:20 a.m. and heading westbound on Highway 246, deputies located the vehicle near Tularosa Road east of Lompoc, where it allegedly swerved into the oncoming traffic lane.

After the driver, David Maldonado, was given field sobriety tests, he was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and booked into Lompoc Jail.

INCIDENT — A Santa Maria resident reported at about 6:40 a.m. that someone allegedly used a key hidden underneath the body of his 1999 Isuzu flatbed truck parked off the 1200 block of Alamo Pintado Road in Solvang and stole a $40 toolbox.

Saturday, June 12:

ARREST — After a white Mustang convertible was seen overshooting the driveway and hitting a curb as it entered the Chevron gas station in Buellton about 10 p.m., deputies contacted driver Michael Jenkins as he stepped from the vehicle at the gas pumps.

Jenkins allegedly admitted he was too drunk to drive but refused to take field sobriety tests, opting instead for a breath analysis that allegedly showed a blood alcohol level of 0.19%.

He was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and taken to County Jail.
