Wed., Sept. 18: 7 p.m. "UC Sedgwick Reserve to present footage of wild animals" sponsored by the Santa Ynez Valley Natural History Society and the Los Olivos Library. The event will be held at at St. Mark’s in-the-Valley Episcopal Church, Stacey Hall, 2901 Nojoqui Avenue, Los Olivos. Reserve director Kate McCurdy will present a lecture from selected images and videos from thousands that have been gathered from motion-sensing cameras over the past eight years. Fri., Sept. 20 through Sun., Sept. 22: "83rd Annual Solvang Danish Days heritage Festival" celebrates with Aebleskiver, Axe Throwing, Free Entertainment, Foodie Experiences in downtown Solvang. Danish Days guests looking to “live like Vikings” throughout the event weekend will have the opportunity to purchase a “Dane For A Day” VIP ticket bundle (only available online), while those looking to gain quicker entrance to Saturday’s and/or Sunday’s Aebleskiver Breakfasts may now purchase tickets for either day’s Breakfast online, in advance. Sat., Sept. 21: 7:00 p.m. "40th season of the Santa Ynez Valley Concert Series" will be celebrated with a special gala concert featuring soprano Isabel Bayrakdarian in a program of gypsy songs and tangos. She will be accompanied by Concert Series Artistic Director Dr. Robert Cassidy on piano; as well as Benjamin Jacobson on violin and Jonathan Moerschel on viola, both hailing from the Calder Quartet. Thurs., Oct. 3: 8 p.m.: "Country music superstar Clint Black returns to Solvang Festival Theater" in a concert to benefit the nonprofit theater, with all proceeds going into maintenance of the iconic 45-year-old outdoor venue. Sat., Oct. 19: 2:00-5:00 p.m. "2nd annual Solvang Grape Stomp event" happens in downtown Solvang on First Street (between Mission Drive/Hwy 246 & Copenhagen Drive) and the adjacent Solvang Park. Solvang Stomp guests will have the opportunity to stomp grapes in vats barefoot, sip tastes from dozens of area wineries, dance to a live band, drink pink in the “I Love Rosé Lounge” and be able to purchase food inside the festival area from popular area eateries as well as participate in the “Lucy & Ricky Ricardo Look-a-Like Contest. Sat., Oct. 19: "WOODSTOCK – 50th Anniversary of Peace, Love & Music fundraising event" will be held on at Rancho San Antonio in Buellton, featuring drinks, cuisine provided by New West Catering, live music by band, Aquarius, and activity booths. The occasion will raise funds to support the The Rona Barrett Foundation's ongoing work to provide affordable housing and wellness services for low-income seniors residing at The Golden Inn & Village in Solvang. Sat., Oct. 19: "40th annual 'Day in the Country' fall festival" to be held in downtown Los Olivos, beginning with an early morning, Platinum Performance-sponsored 5K Fun Run and a 5K Walk (7:30-9:30 a.m.) – which are dog-friendly, and include a one-mile Kids’ Run. Runners may sign up online in advance, or day-of, starting at 7 a.m. in downtown Los Olivos. Also starting at 7 a.m., served until sold out, is a Burrito Breakfast produced by members of the Lucky Clover 4-H Club, at the Los Olivos Community Organization Hall (f.k.a., Santa Ynez Valley Grange Hall). At 10 a.m., Los Olivos’ Grand Avenue transforms into a parade route. The parade is followed by a street fair at 11 a.m. with more than 100 local and regional vendors, crafters and food purveyors. Wed., Oct. 23 & Thurs., Oct. 24.: 8 p.m. "J. Balvin performs at Chumash Casino Resort" The Colombian reggaeton star who performed at this year’s Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, will bring his 24-city U.S. tour to the Chumash Casino Resort’s Samala Showroom for two nights. Mon., Nov. 11: 11 a.m. “Veterans Day Program at Solvang Veterans Memorial Hall" presented by Solvang VFW Post 7139 to honor all veterans and their families. The program includes patriotic music by the Santa Ynez Master Chorale and the High School Bands.
