Fri., Sept. 21: 11 a.m. "The 6th annual PHP Golf Tournament" will benefit PHP programs that furnish health care to uninsured children and support healthy lifestyles for youth in the Santa Ynez and Los Alamos Valleys. The golf tournament will be held at the Alisal River Course with tournament sign-in at 11 AM and tee-off at 12 Noon. Registration is currently open for the tournament. Individual tournament fees are $150 per person and $500 for a foursome. Tee sponsorships are available for $250. "Lompoc Civic Theatre dinner theater production of On Golden Pond" written by Ernest Thompson and directed by Anne F. Ramsey will open at the Ellery Room at The Mission Club. On Golden Pond was a successful Broadway play running for over 150 shows and nominated for both Tony and Drama Desk Awards. In 1981, it was released as a movie with Henry Fonda and Katharine Hepburn in the starring roles, who garnered Best Actor and Best Actress Oscars for their respective performances.
