Zane Sheckherd needs to clear out a little more room on her mantle.

The Righetti basketball star claimed another top prize Monday, being named the PAC 8 League's Player of the Year.

It's nothing new for the Warriors senior. Sheckherd took the same honor a year ago.

Sheckherd helped Righetti to a dominant 14-0 run in league play while also pushing the Warriors to the semifinals of the CIF Southern Section Division 2A playoffs.

The Warriors are 26-2 and begin the state playoffs Wednesday at Glendora.

Sheckherd had a productive offensive season for the Warriors, leading Righetti by scoring 17.4 points per game. She scored 488 points this season. She also dished out two assists per game and grabbed nearly five boards.

Sheckherd's teammate Ashley Reynoso also took home a top honor, being named the PAC 8 Defensive Player of the Year.

Reynoso was a monster on the boards. The senior averaged 13 rebounds a game. She also added a block and nearly two steals.

Reynoso wasn't bad on offensive either, averaging 7.5 points per game for the Warriors.

One Warrior was also on the All-League First Team in sophomore Mercedes Arredondo, who will likely be the focal point of the program moving forward.

Arredondo was second on the team in scoring with 9.5 points per game. She led the team with 4.1 assists per game.

St. Joseph senior Jenna Patel was also on the First Team. Patel was second on the Knights with 13.2 points per game. She added 5.5 rebounds and two assists and two steals.

Samantha Brackett, another St. Joseph senior, was named to the PAC 8's Second Team. Brackett led the Knights in scoring at 13.5 points per game. Brackett added three rebounds, two assists and 2.3 steals per game.

Arroyo Grande had two girls on the First Team in junior Jayci Bayne and freshman Kathleen Hutchens. Mission Prep freshman Olivia Missler was also named to the First Team, along with San Luis Obispo junior Lily Svetich.

Rounding out the Second TEam was another Arroyo Grande freshman, Kaiya Ellison. Mission Prep junior Ary Gonzalez was also named to the Second Team, along with Righetti junior Alijah Paquet and San Luis Obispo junior Anika Meyer.

Paquet averaged 9.1 points per game for Righett this season and 3.4 rebounds. She added two assists and two steals per game.

Pioneer Valley sophomore Ravynn Aneilski was named Honorable Mention, along with St. Joseph junior Maddi Miller and Righetti senior Kendall Bagby.

Miller averaged 6.4 points for the Knights and 3.5 rebounds. Bagby averaged 5.6 points per game and 5.3 rebounds for Righetti.
