Over the last two weeks, the Santa Ynez senior running back, who also doubles as a wideout, has broken a school record while racking up nearly 700 yards of offense. 

Paso Robles hit two home runs and Jaiden Ralston nearly shutout and no-hit the Knights before the Bearcats came away with a 12-2 win in Orcutt.

Lompoc football coach Andrew Jones is disappointed in how things are playing out, saying he's made concessions to make the game happen. "We have never not played the Conqs since they fielded a varsity team," Jones said Monday. "This game has great interest in the Lompoc Valley and means the world to the athletes and their families."

Logan Ast piled up 163 yards rushing on 23 carries with 121 yards receiving on eight catches. He scored four times on the ground.

The Pirate running back/receiver won this week's honor after hauling in 1,180 total votes when the polls closed at 2 p.m. Friday.
