Santa Maria | Lompoc | Santa Ynez

Whichever ways the victories were summoned, multiple area teams have kids worthy of the Player of the Week award.

St. Joseph's defense put together a sterling performance Friday night in a league win.

Lompoc's offense was the showstopper in the Braves' Channel League victory last week.

Santa Ynez had a more balanced effort, with its offense and defense dominating in a 47-7 win over Channel Islands.

The only athletes to win Player of the Week this fall outside of the Santa Maria Valley are from Santa Ynez as quarterback Gildred and kicker Leo Valencia both won the honor earlier this season. Santa Maria's Jacob Nava won the award after the first week of the season. Righetti's Braden Claborn, Pioneer Valley's Adan Rubalcava, VCA's Jacob Sanders, Gildred, Righetti's Ryan Boivin, Righetti's Elias Martinez and Valencia then won the award.

The complete list of candidates and their stats from last week can be found below:

Voting runs through Friday afternoon at 2 p.m. Votes can be cast online at; and Vote tallies from each site will be combined to determine the winner.
