Crews from Santa Maria Fire and the Santa Barbara County Fire Department are responding to a 2-acre brush fire burning near the 5200 block of Dominion Road southeast of Santa Maria.

Smoke can be seen in the area and electrical lines are reportedly down, according to emergency radio traffic. The fire is reportedly burning in light fuel with a slow rate of spread.

Crews believe a blown electrical transformer may have sparked the blaze.
